Osogbo, Osun State — August 16, 2026
The Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Cultural Affairs, Prince Ayodeji Olamilekan, popularly known as Sango of Africa, has expressed delight over the outcome of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, describing the result as a reflection of the people’s resolve and support for Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Prince Olamilekan spoke during a visit to his residence by the Mature Minds Digital Radio TV team following the conclusion of the governorship election.
Speaking on the outcome of the poll, the cultural affairs aide drew a biblical comparison between Governor Adeleke and David, while likening other political actors involved in the contest to Goliath.
According to him, the outcome of the election demonstrates that political strength should not be measured solely by resources, influence or perceived advantages, noting that determination and the will of the people can overcome formidable opposition.
The SSA also expressed concern over what he described as “terrible scenes” involving elements of the opposition during the electioneering process, saying such developments were undesirable for the democratic process.
He, however, expressed satisfaction that the election eventually produced an outcome that, in his view, reflected the wishes of the people.
Prayers for Supporters
Prince Ayodeji Olamilekan also used the occasion to pray for supporters of the governor and other well-meaning citizens of Osun State.
He declared positive words over their lives, praying for continued progress, prosperity, peace and success for those who contributed to the electoral victory.
Commends Osun Voters
The cultural affairs aide further commended the people of Osun State for what he described as their solid support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election.

He particularly praised voters who, according to him, remained committed to their choice without succumbing to intimidation or inducements during the electioneering process.
Prince Olamilekan said the conduct of such voters demonstrated the importance of citizens exercising their democratic rights based on conviction rather than fear or material considerations.
He commended the people of Osun State for participating in the electoral process and for standing by their preferred candidate.
The statement comes as stakeholders and supporters continue to react to the outcome of the Osun State Governorship Election, with calls for unity, peaceful coexistence and responsible political engagement after the contest.
