Traffic Gridlock Hits Ado-Ekiti as Vehicle Breakdown on Bad Road Snarls Movement from Rose bud to Housing Roundabout.

ADO-EKITI, Ekiti State

Motorists and commuters faced hours of serious traffic congestion on Thursday along a major stretch of road in Ado-Ekiti following a vehicle breakdown attributed to the poor condition of the road at Oke-Ila.

The incident occurred when a car broke down on the dilapidated section of the road at Oke-Ila. The stranded vehicle quickly blocked the carriageway, triggering a long queue of vehicles that stretched from the Rosebude area down to the Housing Roundabout.

Eyewitnesses described the situation as chaotic, with drivers forced to wait for extended periods as movement slowed to a crawl.

The combination of the broken-down car and the already bad road surface made it difficult for other vehicles to pass, compounding the gridlock during what is normally a busy period.

Local residents and road users have repeatedly complained about the state of the road at Oke-Ila, saying potholes and uneven surfaces frequently cause vehicles to break down or slow traffic. Thursday’s incident is the latest in a series of disruptions linked to the poor condition of the route.
