Members of Christ Apostolic Church, Citadel of Mercy, came out en masse on Sunday for the church’s Special Thanksgiving Service for the month of October, held to appreciate God for His goodness and mercies.
The thanksgiving service was marked by joyful praise and worship led by the church choir, with congregants dancing in appreciation to God.
In his sermon that was taken from psalm 100 : 1-5 , Mr. Adebayo charged Christians to take thanksgiving seriously and cultivate it as a daily lifestyle in their walk with God.
According to him, thanksgiving should not be seasonal but should reflect in all that Christians do. He highlighted three dimensions of thanksgiving – appreciating God for what He has done in the past, what He is doing in the present, and what He will do in the future.
He said thanksgiving should be a source of joy for every believer and an attitude that must be cultivated in daily activities.
Mr. Adebayo further outlined reasons why Christians must appreciate God, including His enduring mercy, the salvation of souls, and His daily provision for all needs.
In his conclusion, he urged Christians who have not yet learned the act of thanksgiving to do so, stressing that gratitude is central to Christian living.
The service climaxed with thanksgiving dance and prayers from the Pastor-in-charge, Prophet Aduralere Oluwagbohunmi, who prayed for all attendees, before sharing the grace.
