Alleged Attempt to Demolish Eight Houses, Including Family’s Ancestral Home, Sparks Outcry in Iyin-Ekiti

A son of the late Chief George Adefemi Ojo (Saribi of Iyin-Ekiti), George-Ojo Ayomide, who serves as Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Governor, has raised concerns over what he described as an alleged attempt to demolish eight houses, including his family’s ancestral home, in Iyin-Ekiti.

In a video shared publicly, Ayomide expressed his grievance, alleging that some individuals arrived to demolish the properties, claiming they were acting on the instruction of the traditional ruler and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele.

According to him, his family’s ancestral home belonged to his late father and grandfather, and the family is seeking fairness, transparency, and justice over the development.

He appealed to sons and daughters of Iyin-Ekiti to come to the family’s aid, insisting that no family should have to watch its heritage destroyed without due process.

He further called on members of the public to watch the video, share it, and help ensure that what he described as the truth becomes widely known.

The video has generated reactions on social media, with many calling for due process and a peaceful resolution of the matter.

Mature Minds Digital Radio & TV has not independently verified the allegations contained in the video. The claims that the attempted demolition was carried out on the instruction of the traditional ruler and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele are those of George-Ojo Ayomide. Efforts to obtain the reactions of the traditional institution, and other relevant authorities are ongoing. The platform remains committed to fairness, accuracy, and balanced reporting and will publish any official response when received.
