A renowned Public Affairs Analyst and Chartered Librarian, Elder Ayo Arogundade, CLN, has expressed concern over the severe flooding that has paralysed movement in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Speaking in an interview in Ado Ekiti on Monday, Elder Arogundade said commuters were left stranded along the Ado – Iworoko Road as the road became impassable due to flooding.
According to him, “Roads are not motorable because of flooding. Some places have been damaged. To get to Afao has become very difficult, to get to Iworoko has not been easy.”
He noted that the situation has become an annual occurrence in the state capital and called on relevant authorities to find a lasting solution.
Elder Arogundade appealed to the Federal Government, Ekiti State Government and Ado Local Government to urgently intervene and fix the damaged portions of the road.

He also called on emergency management departments, including NEMA and SEMA, to take emergency action to ease the suffering of commuters and residents.
“The Federal Government, Ekiti State Government and Ado Local Government should do something about it. Emergency departments should take emergency action,” he stated.
