Following a thanksgiving service at Christ the King Catholic Church, Ado Ekiti, family members, friends, associates, and dignitaries proceeded to the reception venue for the celebration of the Golden Jubilee (50th Birthday) of Chief Mrs. Ogunleye Oluwalemi Roseline and the 20th Wedding Anniversary of the celebrant and her husband, Hon. Shina Ogunleye, former Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The twin celebration brought together political leaders, traditional personalities, colleagues, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to honour the couple’s remarkable journey of faith, family, and service.
The birthday celebration attracted several dignitaries and prominent personalities, including the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun; Hon. Lawrence Ogunsanya, Chairman of Ifedara Local Council Development Area (LCDA); Hon. Ehinafe Odunayo Bola; Hon. Shola Olowojebutu, among other political leaders, community stakeholders, family members, friends, and well-wishers who graced the occasion.
Delivering his opening address, the Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Lawrence Ogunsanya, expressed gratitude to God for preserving the lives of the celebrant and her family. He described the twin celebration as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and encouraged families to uphold values that promote unity, peace, and enduring marriages.
He particularly urged wives to remain dutiful, supportive, and committed to their homes, noting that the admirable virtues and dedication of the celebrant had earned her the honour and widespread goodwill witnessed at the occasion.
The Father of the Occasion, SA Ogunrotimi, also congratulated the celebrant and her family, offering prayers for continued divine guidance, good health, and many more years of fruitful living.
The event featured goodwill messages and heartfelt tributes from family members, friends, and colleagues, who described Chief Mrs. Ogunleye as a woman of humility, compassion, and integrity. Mrs. Adeola Abimbola described the celebrant and her family as honourable personalities whose exemplary lifestyle has earned them respect and admiration within the community. Another speaker, Mrs. Oluwatosi, portrayed the celebrant as a cheerful, kind-hearted woman who loves children and consistently motivates others to pursue excellence and success. A colleague from Adeomi Primary Healthcare Centre, Iyin-Ekiti, where the celebrant serves as a staff member, commended her professionalism, modest dressing, composure, and cordial relationship with colleagues, describing her as an outstanding and dedicated health worker.
In an emotional tribute, the celebrant’s daughter, Faith Ogunleye, described her mother as a caring and disciplined woman who values order, excellence, and family. “She is a caring mother who loves everything to be in order. She is my role model,” Faith said.
The colourful reception featured prayers, music, goodwill messages, and joyful fellowship as guests celebrated not only the celebrant’s golden jubilee but also two decades of a successful and enduring marriage.
The event ended with prayers for the continued prosperity, sound health, and greater accomplishments of the Ogunleye family.
