Members of the APC National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group, ANALAG, have stepped up grassroots mobilisation for the party’s governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.
The group on Monday staged a “Walk to Victory” in Osogbo to drum up support for Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15 governorship election.The procession, which had ANALAG members and APC supporters, moved from Olaiya Bridge to the APC state secretariat in Ogo-Oluwa and terminated at Ileri-Oluwa House along Gbongan-Ibadan Expressway.Speaking to journalists after the walk, the Coordinator of ANALAG and APC House of Reps aspirant for Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency in Kwara State, Amb. Ayoola Ronke Fakunle, said the group came from Abuja to join Osun members in canvassing votes for the APC candidate.
Fakunle described Oyebamiji as a credible and experienced candidate, noting his service as a two-time commissioner in Osun and immediate past Chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA.“We are here to support our own, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO.
He has been doing wonderfully well, and we believe supporting him will make Osun proud,” she said.She added that the group would intensify door-to-door and house-to-house campaigns across communities in the state.
According to her, Oyebamiji’s track record in public service has equipped him to tackle Osun’s challenges and direct resources effectively. She said an AMBO government would focus on unemployment, social amenities and other pressing issues.Fakunle also urged APC members and residents to avoid violence and come out to vote.
“APC is holding the treasure. We don’t need to fight anybody. I am advising everyone to come out and vote for AMBO because he is the only one that can do it better,” she stated.Also speaking, APC Youth Leader in Olorunda LGA, Comrade Mumeen Tiamiyu, aka Omoluabi, said the walk was to show solidarity with the legislative aides and mobilize voters for Oyebamiji.
“We are here in solidarity with the APC Legislative Aides Support Group in Osun State. This is a walk to victory for the success of AMBO, who is the flag bearer of the APC,” he said.Tiamiyu described Oyebamiji as the right person to lead Osun into a prosperous future.The mobilisation featured APC supporters carrying party materials and banners, calling on voters to back Oyebamiji on August 15.
