FAMILY CLARIFIES STATUS OF GEORGE ADEFEMI OJO HOUSE IN IYIN-EKITI

Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State — August 13, 2026: The family of the late George Adefemi Ojo has clarified the status of his property, known as the George Adefemi Ojo House in Iyin-Ekiti, amid reports and rumours concerning its ownership and alleged transfer to the Oluyin Palace.

In a statement signed by George-Ojo Ayomide, on behalf of the family, the family maintained that the property is not for sale and has neither been ceded, transferred nor released to the Oluyin Palace.

According to the statement, the late George Adefemi Ojo did not build the property on Palace land during his lifetime.

The family further stated that neither Ayomide nor any member of the George-Ojo family has signed an agreement transferring, relinquishing or releasing the property to the Palace.

The clarification follows what the family described as rumours alleging that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) had been signed concerning the property.

“Neither I nor any member of the George-Ojo family has signed any such MOU,” the statement said.

The family urged members of the public to disregard what it described as unfounded claims and refrain from circulating information capable of misleading the public or creating unnecessary tension.

It also stressed that the George Adefemi Ojo House remains an important part of the late patriarch’s legacy, adding that the family would continue to protect what it described as his property and heritage.

The statement concluded by calling for restraint and responsible public discourse while reiterating the family’s position that the property has not been transferred to the Oluyin Palace.

Signed:
George-Ojo Ayomide
