…Comends Tinubu for Level Playing Field
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated his Osun State counterpart, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election in Saturday’s governorship poll.
Adeleke of the Accord Party was declared winner by INEC on Sunday morning after polling the highest votes in the August 15, 2026 election.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the will of the majority of Osun voters.
He urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to reach out to other contestants for inputs that will help build a more prosperous Osun State.
Governor Oyebanji also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring a level playing field for all candidates, noting that this reduced tension and made the election credible.
He further congratulated APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, for putting up a strong challenge, and applauded Osun APC members for their efforts. He urged them to regroup ahead of future elections.
The Ekiti governor equally praised INEC and security agencies for their professionalism during the exercise.
On the 2027 elections, Oyebanji said the Osun result should not be misinterpreted as a rejection of President Tinubu, stressing that Osun people will massively vote for the President and APC in 2027.
_“This is democracy. Majority of Osun voters have expressed their preference for Governor Ademola Adeleke. I congratulate him and urge him to carry others along,”_ he said.
_“We must appreciate President Tinubu for providing a level playing field. The outcome of the Osun election is not a reflection of how Osun people feel about President Tinubu. They will vote massively for him and APC in 2027.”_
