The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Kwara State, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu, has refuted claims linking his 2027 ambition to ritual practices. He described the allegations as false, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image. The denial comes after a video of one *Alhaji Saheed Ishola*, popularly called _LogunOfe_, went viral on social media. In the clip, Ishola was alleged to have made statements and performed acts connected to ritual sacrifices tied to the 2027 governorship race.
This follows another earlier report that some PDP supporters were seen at a shrine in Ogun State praying for the death of those opposed to the political interests of former Senate President *Bukola Saraki* and Kawu.In a statement released on Saturday by his media office, Kawu said he has no ties with Ishola or with the actions attributed to him.The statement read:
“The attention of the Media Office of the PDP governorship candidate in Kwara State has been drawn to a viral video involving Alhaji Saheed Ishola, aka LogunOfe, who allegedly made comments and engaged in activities linked to ritual sacrifice ahead of the 2027 election. Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu has absolutely no connection with the individual’s remarks or actions. Any attempt to link the PDP candidate to such behavior is false, mischievous, and should be disregarded.
For clarity, Alhaji Saheed Ishola LogunOfe does not speak for, work for, or represent Engr. Kawu or his campaign in any capacity.”The media office further stated that Kawu never approved or authorized anyone to make such comments or engage in such acts on his behalf. “At no time has Engr. Kawu endorsed or sanctioned anyone to carry out activities or make statements of that nature in his name,” it added.Reaffirming his faith, the office described Kawu as a committed Muslim who rejects ritual and fetish practices.
“Engr. Kawu is a devoted Muslim whose belief is rooted in the oneness of Allah. He does not engage in, nor believe in, any form of ritual or diabolical practice. As a believer, he puts his trust in God, knowing that power and victory come only from Him.”The statement also noted that Kawu’s ambition is not desperate, but service-driven. “Engr. Kawu does not see the governorship race as a do-or-die affair. His goal is to serve the people of Kwara through responsible leadership, people-focused governance, and development.”According to the media team, Kawu’s priorities remain restoring security, rebuilding public trust, driving prosperity, and securing the future of Kwarans. It urged the public to ignore efforts to connect Kawu or the PDP to the alleged ritual activities.
“Those trying to drag his name into issues that contradict his values are only pursuing selfish interests and should stop,” it said. The office added that Kawu remains committed to a peaceful, issue-based campaign built on integrity, rule of law, faith in God, and respect for democratic choices.
