The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory used for producing adulterated alcoholic drinks in Yafin, Badagry area of Lagos State.A 48-year-old man, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was arrested in connection with the illegal operation.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the operation was carried out following credible information from members of the public.According to her, operatives who stormed the location discovered large quantities of adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, wine labels and other production equipment used for manufacturing and packaging the fake products.
She added that the factory has been sealed, while the suspect is in custody and the recovered exhibits have been moved to the station for further investigation.The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their swift action and appreciated residents who provided useful information.
He urged Lagosians to continue to support the police with credible information to fight crime and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines.
